SITUATION
Up to 1 in 50 homes in the Stirling area are affected by flooding, after 5 flood events in 2015/2016 alone. Even though the Stirling Council’s policy is that the onus of responsibility is on residents & homeowners, they were to invest in a new flood protection deployment scheme.
IMPLEMENTATION
Gravitas International launched the concept of a FloodPOD Scheme, whereby a lockable FloodPOD, containing 120 HydroSack®s/HydroSnake®s would be positioned in key flood-prone locations for swift deployment.
RESULTS
10 FloodPODs™ were distributed to Fire Stations throughout the Stirling area, so that in the event of a flood, emergency teams could distribute the HydroSack®s/HydroSnake®s as required.
